This morning, January 2, Acting Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien chaired a working session with Long Thuan Group Joint Stock Company to listen to the report on the survey results and research to propose the Nam Cua Viet General Port project and the Port Logistics and Warehouse Area in Cua Viet Port Area.

The Nam Cua Viet General Port construction investment project is expected to be built in Trieu An commune, Trieu Phong district on an area of ​​16.69 hectares, including 2 wharves to receive general cargo ships and bulk cargo ships with a capacity of up to 5,000 tons, with a design capacity of 2.7 million tons/year.

In addition, the port logistics and warehouse area is expected to be deployed on an area of ​​8.74 hectares. The project's objective is to serve the needs of gathering, warehousing, storage, logistics services, goods distribution centers, postal customs clearance services, express delivery, etc.

The Nam Cua Viet General Port and Port Logistics and Warehouse Project is invested by Nam Cua Viet General Port Joint Stock Company under Long Thuan Group Joint Stock Company with a total investment of over 934.5 billion VND.

At the meeting, the representative of Nam Cua Viet General Port Joint Stock Company requested the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments, branches and sectors to consider, appraise and soon issue a decision approving the project investment policy so that the investor has a basis to implement the next steps; consult the Ministry of Transport to consider, appraise and approve the updated Detailed Planning for the development of land and water areas of Quang Tri seaport, readjust the length of the southern sand-blocking dike from 980 m to 430 m as a basis for updating the planning, land use plan and land recovery for the project.

At the same time, focus on capital resources, promptly deploy connecting routes and synchronous technical infrastructure to the project boundary; support investors in site clearance, conversion of forest use purposes, integration of project area into land use planning and plans in the coming years and local planning...

Concluding the meeting, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong affirmed that Quang Tri province always supports and prioritizes projects in the fields of maritime transport and logistics to exploit the province's advantages located on the East-West Economic Corridor, connecting with other regions to transit goods.

Therefore, it is recommended that investors promptly complete financial documents, clarify some contents related to goods sources, technical parameters to ensure port area operations, and avoid overlapping in operations between ports...

On that basis, relevant departments, branches and sectors, according to their functions and tasks, actively support investors in completing the dossier to propose approval of the project investment policy in the first quarter of 2025, and report to the Provincial People's Committee to proceed with the next steps.

Regarding issues related to detailed planning of seaport groups, ports, wharves, buoys, water areas, and water regions, the Department of Transport and the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board shall work with the Maritime Administration to review related issues in order to promptly propose the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Ministry of Transport for adjustment and supplementation, creating favorable conditions for research and implementation of projects.
