In 2019, the family brought Taiwanese guava trees into the home garden for testing and now they have become the main crop, bringing the main source of income for the family with over 500 trees.

Mr. Dai said: "Having participated in many training courses, along with visiting and learning about typical agricultural economic models of the Farmers' Associations, programs organized by the Provincial Farmers' Associations (HND), I chose guava trees to develop the family economy. From the beginning, my family applied the production process according to VietGAP standards, planting and caring for them according to natural, organic methods, without using chemicals or chemical fertilizers to ensure the quality of the fruit. Therefore, my family's guava products are very fragrant, crispy, sweet, beautiful, and favored by customers."

Every year, Mr. Dai's family supplies the market with about 25 - 30 tons of guava, bringing in over 200 million VND in revenue. Thanks to that, his family has become a well-off household in the commune.

Currently, in Van Phu commune, there are dozens of good production and business households with incomes of 200 million VND or more. To achieve these results, the commune Farmers' Association has carried out many activities to support and encourage members to promote dynamism, creativity, and promote the application of science and technology in production.

In particular, to make patriotic emulation movements, in which the most prominent is the Movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" truly come into life, every year, the Association proactively coordinates with departments, branches, sectors and enterprises to promote propaganda, orientation, and support members in implementing agricultural production models for high economic efficiency, applying science and technology to production, improving productivity and product quality.

In 2024 alone, the Association coordinated to organize dozens of conferences to disseminate and train on the transfer of scientific and technical advances to officials and members; at the same time, coordinated with businesses to guide farmers in accessing science and technology, applying mechanization to production, organizing tours for members to learn from experiences in many places; implemented activities to introduce, promote and consume agricultural products, and guide members to participate in the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program.

In order to help members develop their economy, the Association has also entrusted banks and the Farmers Support Fund to lend capital to members to implement projects on cultivation, livestock, services, technology improvement, science and technology to improve production and business efficiency, contribute to economic restructuring, create new jobs, and increase income for farmer members. Typical models include: growing Taiwanese guava, integrated livestock, raising snails, producing peeling boards, etc. Up to now, the whole commune has only 1 poor household.

Mr. Phung Van Luc - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Van Phu commune said: "In the coming time, the Association will continue to widely and effectively implement the Movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably". From there, it will create a spreading force, a vibrant competitive atmosphere, creating motivation for farmers to enthusiastically participate in labor production, contributing to accelerating the process of economic restructuring towards industrialization and modernization of agriculture, rural areas and farmers of the locality".
