On August 23, Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Support and Consulting Center (DXCenter), Quang Trung Software Park (QTSC) organized the Workshop "Digital Transformation Journey - Breakthrough from small businesses to great success".

At the workshop, experts emphasized that the level of digital transformation readiness of Vietnamese enterprises, especially SMEs, is improving significantly.

Businesses have proactively researched and approached new technology trends and solutions to apply to business operations.

Digital transformation not only helps improve business performance, enhance product and service quality, but also creates opportunities to reach potential customers and expand the market. Going fast and being ahead makes it easier to attract resources. If going slow and being behind, when digital transformation has become a popular trend, resources will become scarce, opportunities will be fewer, and development opportunities will be missed.

However, about 90% of the companies participating in the survey came from large cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with an average level of digital transformation readiness at an advanced level (with a score above 3.0).

Mr. Phi Anh Tuan, Head of Enterprise Digital Transformation, DXCenter Digital Transformation Support and Consulting Center, said that the frequent "concerns" of SME businesses are choosing the right digital transformation platform, because there are currently too many consultants, if choosing the wrong consultant will lead to loss of both time and money.

According to Mr. Phi Anh Tuan, there are currently too many technologies on the market, many solutions from Vietnamese solutions to international solutions and businesses do not have enough information to choose the right solution, nor can they predict the possibility of future expansion.

Mr. Phan Phuong Tung, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Support and Consulting Center, spoke at the workshop.

Meanwhile, according to Ms. Dao Thi Hong Le, Director of Tokyo Tech Lab Vietnam, digital transformation is no longer a trend but has become an urgent need for all businesses.

Therefore, digital transformation solution providers need to provide a platform that not only meets diverse professional expertise, convenience and high customizability, but also ensures performance and security to match the trend of the global internet world.

Experts say that SMEs are facing many challenges when implementing digital transformation activities. The main difficulties include high investment costs for new technologies, lack of synchronous infrastructure, as well as the risk of data leakage and shortage of technical human resources.

These challenges are slowing down the digital transformation of SMEs in Vietnam compared to its potential, and stronger support from the government and relevant agencies is needed to promote this change.

Mr. Hoang Van Tam, Director of DigiTech Solutions Company, commented that some SMEs do not have a specific strategy for the digital transformation process, leading to the implementation of technologies that are not synchronized and ineffective. Failure to determine a suitable digital transformation roadmap can make it difficult for businesses to apply technology optimally.

Currently, with the strong development of artificial intelligence technology, SMEs are facing new opportunities and challenges. If the business is not ready with resources, instead of doing a comprehensive digital transformation, it can shift its strategy to applying AI to each of its business processes, from simple to complex processes.

The workshop aims to provide information on the latest trends, strategies and technologies in the field of digital transformation, helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) grasp and apply effectively.

At the same time, it creates opportunities for connection and cooperation between businesses and speakers and technology solution providers, thereby helping to solve the challenges that SMEs are facing in the process of implementing digital transformation.
