On this occasion, stories about the historic April days were told, such as: Veteran Hoang Minh Duyet told the story of keeping 16 tons of gold when taking over and protecting the entire banking system handed over by the Saigon puppet government right after Saigon was liberated; Major General Tran Vinh Quang, former Political Commissar of Military Region 9, shared his feelings when participating in the takeover of Vinh Long during the April days; Lieutenant Colonel La Viet Thao, Deputy Commander of the heroic 88th Regiment, participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign 50 years ago, now with his comrades from the North, went to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification with many emotional feelings...

In the series of gratitude activities, there is an activity of restoring photos, including the portrait of the late Lieutenant General Nguyen Thoi Bung, former Deputy Minister of National Defense.

At the event, writer Tram Huong, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, presented the entire manuscript of the project "Khoạn âm nước mắt", written about 100 heroic Vietnamese mothers across the country. This meaningful project has just been honored to receive the "50 years of pride in the heroic epic" award from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, veteran Nguyen Cong Trung, Chairman of the Southern Soldiers' Heart Club, shared: “With the spirit of “from heart to heart”, we wish to connect veterans, former People's Police, former youth volunteers, businessmen and all sectors of society, to participate in collecting documents and wartime relics; creating literary, artistic and journalistic works on the traditional history of the nation's resistance against foreign invaders. The club always upholds the spirit of social responsibility, cares for comrades and wishes to spread positive, humane and kind deeds with the community”.
