Ho Chi Minh City tourism earns over 15,700 billion VND on April 30 holiday

On May 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that from April 20 to May 4, with the peak on April 30, the number of visitors to tourist and entertainment areas in the city was estimated at 2.7 million. International visitors to Ho Chi Minh City were estimated at 355,000. Revenue was estimated at VND15,707 billion.

In just the 5 days of the April 30 holiday, visitors to tourist and entertainment areas; international arrivals; and guests at accommodation facilities all increased sharply compared to the same period last year. These are "huge" numbers compared to the same period last year, when Ho Chi Minh City became the center of the country for the past 2 weeks, with a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Since mid-March, many hotels in central districts such as Districts 1, 3, 4 and Phu Nhuan, where art performances, parades, light festivals and culinary events take place, have recorded full room bookings.

In areas near the center, accommodation establishments also recorded room occupancy rates of 80% or more.

Many families from provinces and cities across the country came to Ho Chi Minh City to travel and enjoy the festive atmosphere. They said they could not book a hotel in the central area and had to book in Go Vap District, District 12, etc., but they were still very happy with the bustling atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City.

Many travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City have recorded a sharp increase in purchasing power for short-term and inner-city tours, about 30-35% compared to last year. Tourist attractions and entertainment venues such as Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area, Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site, the city center with attractions such as the War Remnants Museum, Reunification Hall... are all crowded with visitors.
