Guests staying at accommodation establishments are estimated at about 867,000, an increase of 333.5% over the same period in 2024. Room occupancy is estimated at about 95%, an increase of 26.7% over the same period in 2024 (75% in 2024). Revenue is estimated at VND 7,138 billion, an increase of 120.6% over the same period in 2024.
Meanwhile, if calculated from April 20 to May 4, visitors to tourist and entertainment spots,... are estimated at about 2.7 million. International visitors to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated at about 355,000; revenue is estimated at 15,707 billion VND.
According to the City Department of Tourism, since mid-March, many hotels in central districts such as Districts 1, 3, 4 and Phu Nhuan where art performances, parades, light festivals and culinary events take place have recorded full room bookings.
During the April 30 and May 1 holidays, room occupancy rates at 1- to 5-star hotels in the city center reached 95% to 100%. Many 4- to 5-star hotels had no more rooms available during peak days from April 27 to May 1.
Particularly, tourist attractions in the city welcomed a sharp increase in the number of visitors. Many travel businesses in the city recorded a sharp increase in purchasing power for short-term and inner-city tourism programs, about 30% -35% compared to 2024.

Some cultural and historical tourism programs with in-depth content, explanations, combining practical experiences and local cuisine have increased by 30-50%, such as: "Saigon-Gia Dinh Imprint", "50 Years Back"; double-decker bus tour programs, dinner on the train, and Cu Chi tunnel tours have been fully booked since early April 2025. Customers on inner-city tours are mainly family groups, young people or the elderly who want a short experience.
In addition, the Department of Tourism also coordinated with departments, branches and the People's Committee of Binh Chanh district to organize the Binh Chanh District Cultural-Tourism Week in 2025 and the Vesak Festival, attracting the participation of 13,500 delegates including monks, nuns, Buddhists and millions of visitors to participate in the Vesak Festival and the Cultural-Tourism Week.
The Department of Tourism introduced 9 1-2 day tour programs for delegates to experience and learn about relics, tourist attractions, craft village products, and cultural activities in Binh Chanh district and neighboring areas.
The Department also promoted communication, made a photo series of 50 iconic destinations of the city's tourism, a short film "50 Flashes" to promote the image of the country and people of the city during the United Nations Vesak Festival; had booths to promote information and tourism, such as: incense making village, yellow apricot village; sold souvenirs, regional specialties, OCOP products...
