[Photo] Opening of the Exhibition on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Truong Sa Archipelago and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Navy

NDO - On the morning of March 17, the Naval Region 4 Command coordinated with the Navy Political Department, the Hanoi Photojournalist Club and the National Archives Center IV to organize the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa - Fatherland at the forefront" and "Heroic Vietnam People's Navy - 70 years of journey to protect the sea" at Cam Ranh military port.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Huu Minh, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 4, said: "This is an exhibition of special importance. The officers and soldiers of Naval Region 4 are looking forward to and welcoming this event. The exhibition helps officers and soldiers in the entire region understand more fully and deeply the significance, great stature, and great historical value of the Great Spring Victory of 1975 in general and the liberation of Truong Sa in particular."

The exhibition displays many valuable images and documents including 200 documents, images, and maps from the Vietnam National Archives Center, the Vietnam Military History Museum, the Navy Museum, and many documents collected from the Archives, the National Library of the United States, France, etc. In addition, many documents about Hoang Sa are published for the first time.

In particular, the exhibition displays 50 press photos taken by members of the Hanoi Photojournalist Club from 2009 to present.

50 vivid and clear photos depicting Truong Sa archipelago from combat training, activities, and daily life.

The photos depict the hardships in the journey to preserve the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands.

The exhibition is on display at Cam Ranh military port.

The exhibition once again helps affirm Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; highlights the achievements of the Vietnam People's Navy in 70 years of building, fighting, winning and advancing straight to modernity.
