Over the past time, the entire political system and the people of Thanh Thoi An commune have been constantly striving to achieve the new rural standards. At the time of starting to build the new rural areas, the commune encountered many difficulties such as: the infrastructure was not yet synchronized, there was no increased investment, especially the irrigation system, people's lives were still facing many difficulties, the poverty rate in the commune was still high, most of the rural workers in the agricultural sector had not been trained much in the application of science and technology in production... During the implementation of the program, Thanh Thoi An commune gradually overcame difficulties and achieved many positive results, such as the commune roads were asphalted, ensuring convenient car travel all year round reaching 100%, hamlet roads and inter-hamlet roads were hardened, meeting well the travel and freight transport needs of the people in the commune.

The irrigation system has been invested and expanded, meeting well the needs of agricultural production, with 73 large and small canals, more than 150km long, 2 sluices creating a smooth flow, making it convenient for people in the commune to get water for farming and livestock farming. The electricity system has been widely invested, with the rate of households using electricity reaching nearly 100%. Schools in the commune from kindergarten to junior high school have received investment attention from superiors, improving the quality of facilities such as classrooms, administrative areas and equipment, meeting well the teaching requirements for students at all levels.

Along with that, the commune has built production models on crops and livestock such as: building organic rice farming models, raising dairy cows, beef cattle, and raising brackish water shrimp. In order for households to gather to produce large quantities of goods with quality to supply the market, the commune has established 2 cooperatives, including 1 rice production cooperative, 1 beef cattle breeding cooperative and 1 aquaculture cooperative. Most of the cooperatives and cooperatives operate very effectively, bringing in significant income for participating members.

I am also happy that the commune has received investment from all levels and sectors to build traffic routes connecting the hamlets to the commune and connecting with neighboring localities, contributing to the convenience of farmers in trading goods, helping people's lives become more and more prosperous."

“The achievements of Thanh Thoi An commune over 14 years of new rural construction are specifically demonstrated by the result that the average income per capita in the commune reached nearly 61 million VND/person/year, reducing the number of poor households in the whole commune to 1.36%, the commune no longer has temporary houses or dilapidated houses. To improve the material and spiritual life of the people, the commune will continue to implement the construction of an advanced new rural commune. Focus on building a strong political system, maintaining political security, social order and safety in the commune. Mobilize, integrate and effectively use capital sources for new rural construction. Focus on mobilizing resources from the people, state budget capital sources and integrating from investment programs and projects for new rural construction.
