Particularly meaningful was the flower lantern releasing ceremony on Nhat Le River with the participation of Quang Binh Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang, representatives of the People's Council and People's Committee of Quang Binh province and a large number of local people and tourists.

Thousands of sparkling candle-lit lanterns were released into Nhat Le River to pay tribute to and commemorate the heroic martyrs who fought and heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

At Dong My Park (Dong Hoi city), the inauguration and handover ceremony of the Nhat Le Port Monument took place. This is one of many projects that have been restored and embellished along with the national historical monuments of the Ho Chi Minh Eastern Truong Son Trail such as: Xuan Son Ferry Monument, Khe Gat Field Airport Monument, Gianh Port, Tra Ang Tunnel... completed before the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

Nhat Le fishing port is not only an important economic gateway but also a “red address”, a witness to the heroic history of the “Hai Gioi” land of Quang Binh. During the resistance war against the American imperialists to save the country, this place was an important link on the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail at sea, where weapons, food, and goods were received to support the southern battlefield.

This is also the place where brave troops set out on their missions; the place that endured the fierce bombs of the enemy, soaked in the sweat and blood of countless cadres, soldiers and our people. Nhat Le Port and the Ho Chi Minh Trail Relic System in Quang Binh are forever shining symbols of the steadfast, indomitable will and aspiration for peace of our nation.

Chairman of Dong Hoi City People's Committee Hoang Ngoc Dan emphasized that the restoration and embellishment of Nhat Le Port Monument aims to express respect and deep gratitude for the great contributions of the generations of fallen ancestors. The project was built spaciously, with solemn architecture, meaningful visual language, and in harmony with the general landscape of the area.

This place will become a "red address" to educate the younger generation about patriotism and history and contribute to enriching tourism products, promoting local socio-economic development.

At 9:00 p.m. the same day, at Ho Chi Minh Square (Dong Hoi city), a low-altitude fireworks display will take place for 15 minutes.
