So how to protect yourself in the milk market with so many varieties, but also many "real and fake" like the recent shocking fake milk case?

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Tuyet Mai, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Nutrition: Fake milk often does not ensure micronutrients, proteins, lipids, glucides, etc. Especially for subjects such as pregnant women, infants, young children, etc., prolonged use can lead to nutritional deficiencies, not ensuring the growth of the fetus as well as the developing child; people with diseases, people with poor health, if drinking fake milk that does not match the declared ingredients, the symptoms of the disease are at risk of getting worse.

"Consumers of fake milk or milk that does not meet quality standards may suffer from acute poisoning, digestive disorders such as diarrhea, vomiting, and allergic problems... In particular, if the product does not ensure the safety of allergenic ingredients for children when used, it is difficult to predict the consequences," said Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Tuyet Mai.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Tuyet Mai, all nutritional products, if they want to offer any benefits, must be proven in terms of nutritional science; products that want to advertise their own unique characteristics and outstanding benefits must have convincing scientific evidence to be able to accurately conclude about the effects of that product. Therefore, people need to be very alert.

Regarding the confusion of consumers about the current problem of fake milk, especially many people who still need to supplement products such as milk, need quality products, Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Tuyet Mai recommends: To avoid drinking fake milk, people need to choose reputable places to buy, ensure that the facility has a clear origin, full invoice. People should check the label, origin, quality of the product before buying. People can check through common senses such as color, taste of the product. Real milk often has a very clear characteristic aroma, light yellow color, good solubility when mixed, no sediment...

Experts also recommend that parents should consult a doctor before using milk appropriately. Parents should choose companies specializing in the production and trading of milk and dairy products with many years of business experience, companies with prestigious brands in the country as well as the world. Choose reputable brands with full information about the manufacturer, ingredients, production date and expiration date.

In particular, many people are concerned about the difficulty in controlling the quality and origin of foreign milk products on the market.
