Groundbreaking of a social housing project in the province
In 2025, Long An province aims to complete 2,000 social housing units. To ensure progress, the Department of Construction recently held a meeting with departments, branches and investors to grasp the implementation situation; at the same time, remove difficulties and obstacles, promote projects to start construction on schedule.
According to the review, in 2025, the whole province plans to start construction of 20 social housing projects with a total area of 128.62 hectares and a scale of 32,024 apartments.
In the second quarter alone, 6 projects with an area of 20,584 hectares and about 3,342 apartments will start construction. Specifically, in Ben Luc district, 2 projects will be in Phu An Thanh Residential Area (1,100 apartments) and Mai Ba Huong Residential Area (600 apartments). Can Duoc district will have 2 projects in Phuoc Dong Resettlement Area (400 apartments) and Cau Tram Industrial Park (947 apartments). Duc Hoa district will have 2 projects in My Hanh Nam commune (175 apartments) and Duc Lap Ha commune (120 apartments).
The Department of Construction requested the People's Committees of Ben Luc, Can Duoc and Duc Hoa districts to urge investors to complete legal procedures to start construction soon.
For the remaining 14 projects expected to start construction in 2025, the total area is more than 108 hectares, with a scale of up to 28,682 apartments.
Notable among these are large-scale projects such as Phuoc Vinh Tay New Urban Area (Can Giuoc District) invested by Vinhomes – VIG joint venture with an area of over 62 hectares, expected to have 13,440 apartments; Hau Nghia – Duc Hoa New Urban Area with 6,399 apartments.
In addition, there are many projects in the districts of Duc Hoa, Ben Luc, Thu Thua and Can Giuoc, with scales ranging from hundreds to thousands of units, contributing to creating a housing supply for workers, laborers and low-income earners.
The Department of Construction requested the People's Committees of Duc Hoa, Can Giuoc, and Thu Thua districts to focus on guiding and urging investors to complete the conditions to start the project as planned.
Promoting the development of social housing not only contributes to stabilizing social security but also serves as a driving force for sustainable economic and urban development in Long An in the coming period./.
