On December 26, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , the leader of Cam Ranh International Airport (Khanh Hoa province) confirmed that this unit had announced the termination of Mai Linh taxi company's operations at passenger terminal T1 of Cam Ranh International Airport.

According to this person, from January 1, 2025, Cam Ranh International Airport will stop all passenger transport services by taxi of Mai Linh Group Joint Stock Company, terminating the contract between the two parties from January 2, 2025.

"We have asked Mai Linh Group Joint Stock Company to pay off the debt of nearly 300 million VND, along with a contract violation fine of nearly 55 million VND, but we have not received it yet," he said.

The leader of Cam Ranh International Airport said that in July 2023, this unit and Mai Linh Group Joint Stock Company signed a contract to exploit and provide passenger transport services by taxi at passenger terminal T1.

However, after many times of working, Mai Linh Group still did not pay the amounts according to the signed contract.

"According to regulations, if Mai Linh taxi does not fulfill its commitment, Cam Ranh International Airport has the right to unilaterally terminate the contract," he said.

Speaking further about the main reason why the above taxi company's contract was terminated, the leader of Cam Ranh International Airport said that recently the number of passengers coming to T1 terminal (domestic terminal) of Cam Ranh airport has decreased significantly, so this taxi company has no passengers, leading to the inability to pay.

"For more than ten years now, at this time, the domestic terminal falls into low season, while terminal T2 (international terminal) has doubled the number of passengers compared to last year, so taxi companies that have contracts to pick up passengers at the domestic terminal have been greatly affected," he said.

The leader of Cam Ranh International Airport also said that many taxi companies operating at Cam Ranh Airport still owe money according to signed contracts for passenger transport, but some companies pay late while others do not pay.

"Many airlines have cut domestic routes, and the domestic economic situation is difficult, so travel is limited or people use cheap means of transport, so the number of passengers coming to the domestic terminal of Cam Ranh airport has decreased," said the leader of Cam Ranh airport.
