On April 1, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Document No. 1426/BGDĐT-HSSV to educational institutions on the implementation of the "Month of action for food safety" in 2025.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training requires departments of education and training, universities and vocational training institutions to proactively coordinate with the health sector and relevant local agencies to implement the "Month of action for food safety" in 2025 from April 15 to May 15 with the theme: "Ensuring food safety, focusing on food safety in collective kitchens, catering services and street food".

Educational institutions should strengthen propaganda and education for learners, teachers, managers and food processing staff in collective kitchens and school canteens on choosing healthy foods and ensuring food safety; practice personal hygiene and school hygiene to prevent food contamination, foodborne diseases and infectious diseases.

Other food services in schools must ensure requirements on disease prevention and control and food safety conditions according to regulations.

The Ministry of Education and Training also requires educational institutions to proactively develop plans, closely coordinate between schools, families and local authorities to prepare response plans and handle situations arising when food poisoning occurs in schools; strengthen coordination in inspection and examination of the education-health sector, mobilize the participation of school parent representatives in monitoring hygiene, food safety and the quality of boarding meals to promptly detect and handle violations in educational institutions./.
