The program, coordinated by Tuoi Tre newspaper and GREENFEED Vietnam Joint Stock Company, the Farmers' Association and Bac Kan Provincial Youth Union, will provide interest-free loans for 2 years to 40 farming households in difficult circumstances in Binh Trung commune, Cho Don district.

Each household was supported with 20 million VND and 3 million VND for animal feed. The total budget for Binh Trung was 920 million VND, including 800 million VND in cash and 120 million VND in animal feed support.

The representative of the Organizing Committee said that in addition to the initial capital support, households that receive loans will also receive a 20% bonus (equivalent to 4 million VND) if they repay the loan on time.

The organizing committee also provided training on livestock farming techniques and assigned technical staff to closely follow the farmers for two years to answer questions and provide technical support for effective livestock farming. In addition, children of households with high academic achievements were also supported with scholarships.

Over the past 15 years, the program has improved the livelihoods of 2,620 farming households in 24 provinces and cities nationwide. The total amount of capital supported has reached more than 77 billion VND.

Tuoi Tre Newspaper hopes to be a bridge, giving farmers "fishing rods" to improve their livelihoods and develop their lives in the future.
