Clearly defining the construction of smart healthcare is not only a trend but also an urgent requirement to improve the quality of people's healthcare. In recent times, the healthcare sector has synchronously deployed many digital transformation solutions towards the construction of smart healthcare.

Accordingly, all hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City are making efforts and are gradually converting from paper records to electronic records. This helps to store patient information securely, easily retrieve and share between medical facilities. The implementation of electronic medical records in hospitals has helped shorten the time for medical examination and treatment, reduce administrative procedures, help doctors have more time to focus on treating patients, and minimize medical errors.

The Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that the telemedicine application connecting primary care doctors at health stations with specialists at general and tertiary hospitals in the city has been applied by the city's health sector for many years. This has contributed to creating peace of mind for people when choosing health stations as their first place for medical examination and treatment, in addition to providing remote professional support for doctors working at health stations when encountering difficult and rare situations.

In addition, the City's general and specialized hospitals also apply telemedicine in consultation activities, in distance training and sharing experiences in medical examination and treatment within the regional medical scope to help improve treatment efficiency and update treatment regimens.

At the same time, the application of AI in disease diagnosis and treatment has also been deployed at various general and specialized hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, showing that AI has truly created many positive values.

Mr. Tang Chi Thuong added that the first mark of AI application in Ho Chi Minh City that cannot be ignored is the event of deploying an AI-integrated chest X-ray machine at the Thanh An Island Commune Health Station. The application of AI to the X-ray machine immediately and easily screens for 95 abnormal manifestations in patients when people come to the commune health station for examination; at the same time, the machine will transmit images and results to imaging specialists of end-line hospitals when doctors at the health station need advice.
