At the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Standing Member of the Subcommittee, Head of the Document Editing Team presented a report on the work that the Standing Member of the Subcommittee and the Editing Team have carried out since the establishment of the Subcommittee and the Editing Team up to now and some key tasks from now until the 10th Central Conference of the 13th tenure.

Concluding the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam acknowledged and highly appreciated the Document Editorial Team for their efforts in working proactively and responsibly to submit to the Standing Committee of the Document Subcommittee the draft Political Report (5th time). He stated that the Political Report of the 14th National Congress must be a product of intellectual heights, a crystallization of the collective intelligence of the entire Party, people and army as directed by the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Editorial Team needs to carefully study the resolutions of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government, especially the documents recently issued in this term, the new policies and orientations that have been studied and summarized in practice to filter and incorporate new perceptions and important orientations into the draft Political Report. Promote democracy and collective intelligence with the participation and contributions of central and local agencies, departments and branches, socio-political organizations and the People; seek the participation and contributions of former leaders, intellectuals, researchers and managers; focus on exploiting the results of scientific research at home and abroad.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the upcoming work of the Subcommittee, the Standing Committee of the Subcommittee on Documents of the 14th Party Congress as well as the Document Editorial Team is still very large, while there is not much time left until the 10th Central Conference, requiring great efforts to continue perfecting the draft Political Report. The Document Subcommittee and the Document Editorial Team need to spend adequate time and effort, coordinate and closely and regularly contact with the subcommittees and standing committees of other subcommittees to complete this extremely important and meaningful work on schedule with the highest quality.

The working groups of the Document Subcommittee continue to focus on practical surveys, work with ministries, branches and localities, find good practices and new models to generalize, raise the theoretical level, contribute to proposing policies and guidelines for building and defending the Fatherland in the new period. The summary and evaluation of the implementation results of policies and guidelines must be linked to the rapidly changing reality; what has been proven correct by practice, especially over 40 years of renovation, needs to be affirmed and expressed in the Document.

Scientific seminars and workshops need to be urgently conducted to exchange and discuss more deeply some issues and contents in the draft Political Report; in which, focusing on listening with a spirit of openness, respecting opinions, creating high unity, especially for new and difficult issues.
