In Chuyen My village - known as the "ancestral land" of traditional mother-of-pearl inlay in the South of the Capital, it is not difficult to see the image of artisans diligently working at the inlay table, meticulously attaching each small piece of snail, each shiny mother-of-pearl piece onto the wooden surface. In the midst of that space, Mr. Vu Van Dinh's production facility stands out as a bright spot of the craft village.

With outstanding product lines such as multi-purpose mother-of-pearl inlaid boxes, lacquer plate paintings, and intricately carved wooden vases, Mr. Vu Van Dinh's establishment has established a solid position in the hearts of consumers, especially high-end gift and souvenir products. The highlight is that the mother-of-pearl and shell inlaid materials are all carefully selected and imported from Singapore, India, etc.

According to Mr. Vu Van Dinh, owner of a famous handicraft production facility in Thuong village, participating in the OCOP Program has created a major turning point in the product development process. “Since starting to develop products associated with OCOP, we have become more aware of the quality, design as well as the cultural story behind each product. The support from the district and the city in promoting and promoting trade has helped the village's products reach more customers, especially the high-end gift market,” Mr. Vu Van Dinh shared.

Each handmade product at Vu Van Dinh is not simply an object or decoration, it is a work of art carved from the meticulousness, ingenuity and love of the craftsman. Among the outstanding products at Vu Van Dinh, the portrait mosaic of leaders is a living proof of the pinnacle of technique and talent of Chuyen My craftsmen. The portrait mosaic of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap... is not only expressed in the right spirit and lines, but also exudes solemnity and charisma from the seemingly simple mother-of-pearl and snail materials. In particular, to depict the face of a leader using a material with a natural color like a mother-of-pearl shell, while maintaining the closeness and expressing the majesty is a challenge that not every artisan can do.

Mother-of-pearl inlaid vases - a popular interior decoration product is a testament to the most difficult inlay technique on curved surfaces. Each lotus, dragon and phoenix pattern, and winding landscape is skillfully inlaid, demonstrating the craftsmanship of the craftsman. Each vase is a miniature world - where the quintessence of materials and techniques blend to create a luxurious and noble beauty.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan, a tourist in Mo Lao ward, Ha Dong district, shared her feelings after visiting and shopping at Mr. Vu Van Dinh's production facility: "I was really surprised when I saw the handicrafts here with my own eyes. From the small, pretty pen holder, to the mother-of-pearl portraits of Uncle Ho, or the tall mother-of-pearl vases, all are very sophisticated, deep and soulful. Each inlay line, each piece of mother-of-pearl is carefully and meticulously placed. Holding the product in my hand, I clearly feel the value of the craftsmanship and the dedication of the craftsman."

Ms. Lan added that she chose to buy a multi-purpose wooden box as a birthday gift for her foreign friend.
