Since the beginning of 2025, Quynh Nhai district has focused its efforts and mobilized the entire political system to join hands and contribute to eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households. With high determination, after 3 months of implementation, Quynh Nhai has completed the goal of eliminating 99 temporary and dilapidated houses, reaching the finish line more than 1 month ahead of schedule.

The family of Ms. La Thi Bien, Bung Lanh village, Muong Giang commune is a poor household eligible for support to remove temporary houses. In addition to the 60 million VND supported by the State for new construction, along with the family's savings, with the cooperation of the Party Committee, local authorities and neighbors, her family's new house was completed and put into use in January 2025.

Ms. La Thi Bien - Bung Lanh Quarter, Muong Giang Town, Quynh Nhai, Son La : "Now that it's raining and windy, I'm not worried anymore. The Party and State are paying attention to people in difficult circumstances and supporting them to build new houses. I'm very happy. I thank the Party, the State and the Government."

Through screening, the entire Quynh Nhai district has 99 households with housing difficulties in need of support, of which 57 are newly built houses, 42 are being repaired, with a total cost of 4.68 billion VND. On that basis, the district has developed a detailed plan, assigned tasks to specialized departments, communes and towns to mobilize the entire political system to participate with the determination to complete the elimination of 99 temporary and dilapidated houses before April 30, 2025.

Comrade Luong Van Bua - Chairman of the People's Committee of Muong Giang town, Quynh Nhai, Son La: "After screening, there are 15 households that meet the criteria for support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses, of which, 05 households requested to completely rebuild and 10 households requested to repair. On that basis, in addition to the state support money, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Muong Giang town mobilized cadres and party members to mobilize contributions of 2 million VND/household to partially support the cost for households to build more spacious and clean houses".

With the spirit of "Whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merit to contribute, whoever has property to contribute, whoever has a lot to contribute a lot, whoever has little to contribute a little" has spread the movement of joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the whole district. In addition to the support capital according to the province's regulations, Quynh Nhai district has balanced the budget to save 5% of regular expenditure in 2024. At the same time, 3.3 billion VND was mobilized from socialized capital to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in this period.

Comrade Dinh Trung Dung - Secretary of Quynh Nhai District Party Committee, Son La: “The district has proactively established a Steering Committee headed by the Secretary of the District Party Committee, developed a plan with specific goals, clearly assigned responsibilities; regularly organized progress reports using visual charts. The allocation of resources is transparent and timely. The initial target set for completing the temporary housing elimination program by April 30 was completed by the end of March.”

By the end of March 2025, 99 households living in temporary and dilapidated houses will have new places to "settle down", gaining more strength to escape poverty and stabilize their lives. This is a testament to the determination and efforts of the Party Committee, authorities at all levels and all the people of Quynh Nhai district in implementing the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, arousing the spirit of solidarity and sharing of the whole community joining hands for the poor, leaving no one behind./.
