Today, January 30, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with the Gio Linh District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to launch the construction of the model "Worth living village" associated with the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas" in the period of 2021-2025 at Vinh Quang Thuong residential area, Gio Quang commune, Gio Linh district. In recent times, responding to patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, especially the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, Vinh Quang Thuong residential area, Gio Quang commune has continuously consolidated and promoted national solidarity, mobilized nearly 2.5 billion VND to invest in building cultural facilities, rural traffic routes, and environmental landscapes.

Up to now, 100% of the main roads with an estimated length of 2,500m have been widened by 6-7m; a model road has been built according to the criteria of "wide - bright - green - clean - beautiful" with a length of more than 700m, worth 1.7 billion VND; 2,000m of the "Country Road Light" road; 80% of the internal traffic routes have been hardened to serve agricultural production activities well. Regarding the environmental landscape, cadres and people of Vinh Quang Thuong residential area have organized activities on Saturday for the new countryside to decorate village roads, alleys, and community learning centers; many households have built fences, house gates, planted trees, and flowers to beautify village roads and alleys, and the appearance of the countryside is increasingly prosperous.

In economic development, people have boldly introduced new rice varieties with high productivity, expanded the development of service models, contributing to increasing income for household economy, and the local economy has gradually improved. Democracy at the grassroots level has been increasingly promoted, and people's awareness and responsibility for ownership have been significantly raised.

Cultural, artistic and sports movements continue to develop; civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals and festivals are maintained and implemented well. Movements on building "safe residential areas in terms of security and order"; "residential areas and families ensuring traffic order and safety"; "clans without children violating the law and social evils" attract people from all walks of life to participate, actively contributing to the completion of economic, cultural and social development targets, maintaining national defense and security in the area. By the end of 2023, the average income per capita will reach 54 million VND/year. Gio Quang commune is recognized as meeting the new rural standards for the period 2015-2020; striving to reach the goal of building an advanced new rural commune by 2024.

Chosen by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province as the launching point for building the model of "Worth-living village" associated with implementing the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas" in the period of 2021-2025, all cadres and people of Vinh Quang Thuong residential area in particular and Gio Quang commune, Gio Linh district in general are determined to strive to build Vinh Quang Thuong residential area into a livable village, promote the intelligence and strength of the people, reasonably mobilize resources among the people to build new rural areas for the development goal: building new people, new appearance, new vitality, new development motivation.

Actively respond to the construction of the model "Worth living village" associated with the implementation of the movement "Quang Tri joins hands to build new rural areas" in the period of 2021-2025, determined to compete to build residential areas that meet model new rural standards, creating changes in all areas of social life, especially improving the quality of people's lives to become more civilized, progressive and prosperous. This is a continuous process, with a starting point and no end point, the ultimate goal of the movement is to improve the quality of life both materially and spiritually for the people, taking people's satisfaction as a measure of the results of new rural construction.

The model of “Worth-living village” is not something lofty or natural, but rather very specific and practical issues in daily life, self-managed and organized by the community to achieve a peaceful and happy life, a civilized lifestyle, bustling villages with joy, cultural values ​​​​cultivated in each family, rural landscapes are always beautified regularly, people’s spiritual life changes clearly, the economy develops sustainably, security, order, social safety, and awareness of law compliance is always enhanced.
