The contest attracted more than 10 million ideas from primary, secondary and high school students nationwide. The closing and award ceremony was held in Ha Tinh province on August 9.

Hoang Thi Quynh Huong participated in the contest with a painting on the theme “The Obsession Called School Violence”. It is known that not only is she good at studying cultural subjects, she has also won many awards in national painting competitions.
Huong shared that her passion for painting was passed down from her grandfather. Her grandfather was passionate about drawing, so from a young age, Huong often sat and watched him draw and was guided by him in the first simple strokes. Her parents also encouraged and motivated her, so she became more and more passionate about painting. She spent a lot of time painting, with diverse themes from natural landscapes, people, objects, the environment to traffic safety, studying, etc.

When entering first grade, Huong was instructed by her art teacher, Tran Thi Thanh, about the rules of painting; how to mix and use colors properly; and how to develop initial ideas for a painting to achieve high results.
In first grade, she won second prize in the national competition “For the Future Environment” for students. The success from the first competition motivated Huong to continue with her passion for painting. In the following school years, she participated in dozens of painting competitions from district to national level and won many awards.
