"A new future of mobile begins"
That was the affirmation of Mr. Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, on the morning of October 15, before pressing the button to launch the 5G network covering the whole country.
Officially launched just six months after receiving the license to use the 2,600 MHz frequency, Viettel's 5G network at the time of launch had more than 6,500 BTS stations, covering 63/63 provinces, cities, industrial parks, tourist areas, seaports, airports, hospitals, universities... This is currently the 5G network with the widest coverage among current network operators with the potential to reach 95% of the population.
In particular, the technical solutions for the 5G network deployed by Viettel are the most modern, being used by the world's leading network operators. Viettel's 5G network can reach speeds of 700Mbps-1Gb, 10 times faster than 4G, and has a low latency of almost 0.

He added: "From being behind, approaching 2G, 3G, 4G technologies that were popular in the world 8-13 years ago, this is also the first time Vietnam can go hand in hand with the world in applying the latest technology of the 4.0 revolution, becoming one of the earliest countries to successfully test 5G services."
By mastering many important core network systems, Viettel has brought Vietnam into the top 5 first countries to produce 5G network equipment, after Sweden, Finland, China and South Korea.
Only covered with 4G and 5G technology
On October 15, Viettel also celebrated 20 years of officially starting its mobile service business. After two decades, Viettel has created two revolutions: popularizing mobile services. Then, popularizing broadband Internet services, moving towards the goal of each household owning a fiber optic line, each person owning a smartphone.
