Banks increase strongly again after 5 months

According to Lao Dong, on August 7, Dong A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Dong A Bank) issued a new deposit interest rate table after 5 months of no change. The new interest rate table at Dong A Bank recorded a significant increase in terms, with some terms increasing by up to 0.8 percentage points.

Dong A Bank's deposit interest rate table records the following changes:

One-month interest rate increased by 0.5 percentage points, to 3.3%/year.

3-month term interest rate increased by 0.5 percentage points, to 3.5%/year.

6-month term interest rate increased by 0.5 percentage points, to 4.5%/year.

The 9-month term interest rate increased by 0.5 percentage points to 4.7%/year.

12-month term interest rate increased by 0.8 percentage points, to 5.3%/year.

Interest rate for 18-36 month term remains at 4.7%/year.

VIB increased interest rates today

On the same day, Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB) also recorded an increase of 0.1-0.2 percentage points in interest rates at all terms.

VIB's deposit interest rate table records the following changes:

Interest rates for 1-2 month terms increased by 0.1 percentage points, to 3.2%/year.

Interest rates for 3-5 month terms increased by 0.2 percentage points, to 3.5%/year.

Interest rates for 7-11 month terms increased by 0.2 percentage points to 4.6% per year.

Interest rates for 15-18 month terms increased by 0.2 percentage points to 5.1% per year.

Interest rate for 24-36 month term remains at 5.2%/year.

At the end of the first week of August, the market recorded 10 banks increasing interest rates including: Eximbank, ACB, Agribank, Sacombank, Saigonbank, VietBank, TPBank, CBBank, VIB, Dong A Bank.

On the contrary, in August, ABBank was noted as a bank that unexpectedly reduced interest rates.
