At the conference, the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported specifically on the implementation of a number of key projects in the energy sector. Accordingly, the development of gas-fired power projects; Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant Project; Quang Trach 1 and Quang Trach 2 Thermal Power Plant Projects... Regarding the Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant Project, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) is currently continuing to coordinate with relevant parties to handle issues related to payment of financial obligations and continue to research and prepare the next options.

On April 2, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 270/QD-TTg approving the List of important national programs, works and projects, key to the energy sector; including 12 power source projects (both thermal power and hydropower), 27 power grid projects, 3 gas-electricity project chains, 6 LNG storage projects and power plants using LNG as fuel, 2 petrochemical refinery projects, 2 programs and 1 project.

To date, 10 projects in the list have been completed; including 1 power source project (Ialy expansion) and 9 grid projects. In particular, the 500kV Transmission Line Project was completed after just over 6 months of construction. This is considered a "miracle" in the process of implementing investment in the construction of grid projects.

For the Project of supplying electricity from the national grid to Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, with a total investment of 4,923 billion VND. The current compensation and site clearance work in Vinh Chau town (Soc Trang) still has 4 foundation locations (04, 06, 07, 08) that have not yet been handed over for construction. Currently, contractors are implementing construction at locations with available sites on both Soc Trang and Con Dao sides.

Through the comments and suggestions of local delegates on the difficulties and obstacles in implementing important national programs, works and projects in the energy sector, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son acknowledged the efforts in site clearance; at the same time, requested relevant ministries, branches and localities to proactively direct the urgent handling of difficulties and obstacles in compensation and site clearance; the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to focus on directing issues arising during the implementation process.
