The event was held right on the occasion when the whole country was looking forward to the great holiday, marking the historical moment that opened the era of national independence and socialism, when the country was reunited exactly half a century ago.

Attending and speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed: The 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, culminating in the campaign named after beloved President Ho Chi Minh, mobilized the combined strength of the entire Party, people and army to fight bravely, sacrifice, and gain complete victory, ending 30 years of long and arduous resistance, completely liberating the South, unifying the country; writing brilliant golden pages of history, opening a new era - the era of peace, independence, and the whole country moving towards socialism.

Appreciating Nhan Dan Newspaper for its meticulous preparation and organization of the special information and propaganda campaign on publications and platforms, the Vice President said that this was the result of innovative efforts with a high sense of professional responsibility in the propaganda work on important events of the country, continuing the glorious tradition of the newspaper considered the eldest brother of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. This creative exhibition model will also be brought to schools so that teachers and students can experience history lessons in a new, more vivid and attractive way.

The Vice President believes that with the meticulous, methodical and professional preparation of journalists, the special information session of Nhan Dan Newspaper on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification will be an activity of profound political and social significance, contributing to the propaganda and education of the tradition of patriotism and the spirit of great national unity of all generations of Vietnamese people, contributing to creating a strong driving force to bring our country firmly into a new era - an era of prosperous development.

Regarding the special information campaign and exhibition, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh said: The special information campaign of the Newspaper was carefully prepared and built 6 months ago, deployed on all publications, including Nhan Dan Daily, Nhan Dan Weekend, Nhan Dan Monthly, Thoi Nay as well as on Nhan Dan Newspaper's digital platforms. Each publication organizes many elaborate thematic lines, with coordination to create many layers of massive, rich, and profound content. The topics have the participation of many leading historical - military experts, living witnesses, from heroes of the armed forces, generals, soldiers on the battlefield as well as urban commandos, to ordinary people who made the great victory of the spring of 1975.

In addition, in order to enhance the experience for readers, from April 14, Nhan Dan Newspaper has "launched" a special information page at https://thongnhatdatnuoc.nhandan.vn/. The page includes many sections such as Decisive Battles, Unified Spring Memories, Vietnam Today, Nhan Dan Newspaper Delivers Victory News... truly reviving a heroic historical period, with a special way of telling stories through vivid images and sounds.

In particular, the site integrates an interactive 3D sandbox, bringing readers to the space of the ancient battlefield, with the fighting spirit of 50 years ago. This special "StoryMap" application connects the past with the present using augmented reality (VR) technology, opening a "gate" to take viewers to the exact locations that marked the victories of the previous generation.

The above technology also continues the "touch points" originated from the project "Love Vietnam", deployed in 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The project combines wireless connection technology (NFC) and digital data to spread love for the country, national pride, and promote historical and cultural sites across the country.

On the same morning, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and delegates cut the ribbon to open the interactive exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. The exhibition is located in the grounds of Nhan Dan Newspaper, facing Hoan Kiem Lake, creating conditions for people and tourists to visit and interact.

The exhibition includes 11 enlarged photos of the front pages of Nhan Dan Newspaper published on April 30 of 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020; recreating historical battles, starting from the Central Highlands Campaign with the climax of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign. Viewers can also interact by scanning QR codes to view information about the battles via the website with novel interactive graphics. For the first time, 3D mapping technology will be used to project images of the campaign vertically on the newspaper. This mobile model is also expected to be brought to schools so that students can experience history lessons. What's special is that readers can also project 3D Mapping right at home according to the instructions, so that every "Vietnamese child" can relive the historical moments of 50 years ago with modern projection technology.

At the event, historical witnesses, such as: Hero Colonel of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Van Luc, commander of the Victory Squadron that raided the airfield at Tan Son Nhat airport on April 28, 1975; Corporal Lu Van Hoa, driver of the T54B tank with serial number 843 that crashed into the side gate of the Independence Palace at noon on April 30, 1975; Journalist Tran Mai Huong, former General Director of Vietnam News Agency, former war correspondent of Vietnam News Agency in the 2nd Corps formation - present at the Independence Palace - at noon on April 30, 1975, author of the historical photo "Liberation Army tanks entering the Independence Palace - at noon on April 30, 1975" interacted, recounted memories, unforgettable memories of the historic days 50 years ago.
