At exactly 7am, the official celebration began with the resounding sound of 21 cannon shots by the artillery team at Bach Dang Wharf, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

In the solemn atmosphere of the Anniversary Ceremony, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, and Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, General Secretary To Lam read the Anniversary Speech.

The General Secretary stated that, with the burning desire to protect the independence and unity of the country, with the spirit of "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom", throughout the country "from Muc Nam Quan to Ca Mau Cape", the whole nation joined hands to repel the invaders and everywhere marked the bravery, sacrifices and glorious feats of our army and people.
