- On the morning of April 15, the Provincial Center for Disease Control held a conference to deploy the Communication Project on improving personal hygiene, environmental sanitation and using clean water in rural areas by 2025.

Attending the conference were over 70 leaders and officials of the Medical Centers of districts and cities; leaders and officials of the Department of Education and Training of districts and cities; and Lang Son Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company.

From 2021 to present, the Communication Project on personal hygiene, environmental sanitation and use of clean water in rural areas has been deployed in 11 districts and cities and achieved certain results. People's awareness of clean water, personal hygiene and environmental sanitation has been raised. By the end of 2024, the rate of households with hygienic toilets was 84.5% (an increase of 10.8% compared to 2019); the rate of households with hand washing points with soap reached 95%; the rate of people using hygienic water was 98.5%, of which the rate of poor households using hygienic water was 86.7% (an increase of 26.9% compared to 2019).

At the conference, delegates were informed about the implementation of local technical regulations on the quality of clean water used for domestic purposes in the province; reports on the results of external water inspection in the province; water and environmental sanitation issues in schools; Circular No. 52/2024/TT-BYT, dated December 31, 2024 promulgating national standards and regulations on inspection and monitoring of clean water quality used for domestic purposes. Delegates also discussed and clarified the advantages, difficulties, obstacles and proposed solutions in implementing communication work on personal hygiene, environmental sanitation and clean water use in the coming time.
