In 2025, Gia Nghia City People's Committee has set a clear goal of focusing on leadership, direction, and prioritizing strong economic growth; socio-political stability, and maintaining national defense and security.

The city strives to achieve the highest socio-economic targets set for 2025. In the first 3 months of the year, the city achieved many clear results, Gia Nghia's economic and social targets basically met and exceeded the plan.

The city's industry, trade and services continue to develop. Gia Nghia has about 4,556 establishments and 744 enterprises operating in the fields of trade, services and industry, creating jobs for over 17,300 workers, an increase of 1,168 workers compared to 2024.

Industrial and handicraft establishments continue to invest in modern equipment and expand production scale to improve labor productivity and production and business efficiency.

Mr. Le Van Hoang, Director of Bazan Dak Nong Coffee Company Limited, Nghia Thanh Ward, Gia Nghia City, said that in the first months of 2025, in the general context, coffee production and processing enterprises faced many difficulties due to high prices.

However, with the spirit of continuous and unceasing labor, the company has reorganized production, focused on investing in processing, improving product quality and expanding the market. Besides conquering the domestic market, the company is cooperating with partners to export coffee and cocoa to other countries.

Industrial, commercial and service production activities contribute to the economic development of Gia Nghia. The basic goods distribution system meets the shopping needs, investment in production and business development of the people with 1 supermarket, 3 markets, 4 department stores and Dien May Xanh, 16 enterprises are level I agents, and more than 3,000 individual business households.

Agriculture and rural areas make their mark. The total area of ​​crops in the city is 12,241 hectares. Of which, the area of ​​annual crops is nearly 120 hectares, and perennial crops is 12,121 hectares.

Last crop, Gia Nghia people harvested and cared for 8,025 hectares of coffee, with an estimated total output of about 20,746 tons. The city currently has 1,796 hectares of pepper, with an estimated total output of about 3,162 tons.

The area of ​​fruit trees planted in the area reached 1,362 hectares; the estimated fruit harvest output reached 3,330 tons, of which durian output was estimated at 3,697 tons, avocado 1,812 tons... Recently, people have focused on post-harvest care.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai, Nghia Trung Ward happily shared: “We are very excited because since the beginning of the year, the prices of coffee, pepper and fruits have increased, thereby improving economic efficiency and stabilizing life. The increase in agricultural product prices is the motivation for us to invest and take better care of our crops.”

Gia Nghia is currently the first unit in Dak Nong to have completed the new rural construction program. Currently, Gia Nghia's new rural construction continues to achieve positive results, with Dak Nia commune recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2024 and Dak R'moan commune achieving 18/19 criteria.

Deeply concerned about social security

One of the areas that Gia Nghia City always pays close attention to is implementing social security well. In the first quarter, the Steering Committee for Tet Charity at all levels in the area mobilized 5,309 gifts with a total value of 3,878 million VND.

The city provides monthly social assistance to 1,715 beneficiaries with a total of 1,313 million VND; monthly care expenses for 242 beneficiaries with a total of 123 million VND. The organization visits and presents 154 gifts to lonely elderly people and orphans, with a total of 110 million VND.

The city currently has 56 poor households and 176 near-poor households. Gia Nghia's poverty rate is 0.26% compared to a total of 21,269 households. Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Government, Gia Nghia City has 25 households receiving support, of which 10 were newly built and 15 were repaired.

Currently, the city has started supporting 6 poor and near-poor households facing housing difficulties and the remaining 19 households are striving to complete before September 2025.

Recently, Mr. Phan Sy Quynh in Quang Thanh ward received 70 million VND from Gia Nghia City Red Cross Society, Gia Nghia Electricity, and Dak Nong Red Cross Society to build a house.

Mr. Quynh shared: “The family is very touched by the care and support of all levels and sectors in sharing difficulties with the people. The house will be a great source of encouragement to help the family settle down, overcome difficulties, and rise up in life.”

Since the beginning of the year, the total number of Gia Nghia City workers who have been employed through the programs is 2,696 people. The rate of Gia Nghia trained workers is currently 80%.

Promote missions

In the second quarter, Gia Nghia City continued to focus on synchronously and effectively implementing solutions on State budget management, ensuring the implementation of revenue and expenditure tasks according to the estimates assigned by the City People's Council.

The city continues to focus on social security, job creation and improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The city continues to promote emulation movements, arousing patriotism among the people.

Assessing the results of the implementation of tasks in the beginning of the year, Mr. Ngo Duc Trong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Nghia City acknowledged the results achieved in the past time.

Mr. Trong requested that departments, offices, units, communes and wards in the coming time focus highly with the spirit of working tirelessly. The city speeds up the progress of site clearance for constructions and projects.

The city continues to innovate digital transformation, administrative reform and improve the quality and efficiency of administrative procedure settlement for people and businesses.
