According to the latest survey by Kitco News, financial analysts and individual investors are more optimistic than ever about the prospect of increasing prices of precious metals.
Specifically, 15 out of 16 experts participating in the survey predicted that prices would increase this week, no one said that prices would decrease, and only one opinion said that the market would move sideways. On the individual investor side, out of a total of 400 people participating in the online survey, 275 people (69%) expected gold prices to increase, 18% predicted a decrease, and 13% maintained a neutral view.
Marc Chandler, CEO of Bannockburn Global Forex, said: "The weakening US dollar has overshadowed the impact of high interest rates, pushing gold to a new peak. The next target could be $3,300, or even $3,500 an ounce in the medium term."
