Opening the trading session on August 14, the Vietnamese stock market traded in the green, reaching nearly 1,240 points. However, the continued cautious movement of cash flow led to a cooling state and the most obvious fluctuations in the afternoon session.

At the end of the session, VN-Index decreased by 0.06 points, closing at 1,230 points. Liquidity decreased with 443.2 million shares matched on the HOSE floor.

The VN30 basket of large-cap stocks increased by 1.66 points, closing at 1,270 points. In the group, 17 stocks increased in price such as VRE (+3.2%), SAB (+2.6%), VHM (+2.3%). On the contrary, 13 stocks decreased in price such as VCB (-1.7%), SSI (-0.9%), MBB (-0.8%).

In today's session, Vingroup stocks, food and beverage stocks had the momentum to support the market. On the contrary, stocks, technology, retail... had a slight decline.

Foreign investors continued to net buy on the HOSE with a value of 663.7 billion VND. They bought many shares of KDC (+461.3 billion VND), MSN (+218.7 billion VND), HDB (+197.8 billion VND). On the contrary, this group sold strongly shares of HPG (-94 billion VND), VHM (-46.3 billion VND), FRT (-44.5 billion VND).

Rong Viet Securities Joint Stock Company said that the cooling down movement along with low demand signals shows that the market is facing resistance pressure from the MA(20) zone, the 1,235 point zone. It is expected that the market will continue to be blocked at this zone and there is a potential risk of decline again.

"Investors need to be cautious about the unstable state of the market and keep their portfolio proportions at a safe level. At the same time, they still need to consider market recoveries to take profits or restructure their portfolios to minimize risks" - Rong Viet recommends.

According to VCBS Securities Company, the performance of VN-Index did not change much compared to yesterday's session and remained stable at 1,230 points.

Therefore, this securities company still maintains the view of focusing on short-term investment strategies at this time and selecting stocks with the criteria mentioned in recent recommendations of VCBS.

"The market is still skeptical and cautious, so investors should not increase portfolio weight or use margin" - VCBS suggested.
