Specifically, at 2:00 p.m. on April 15, while on duty at Deo Hoa, Mun Chung commune (Tuan Giao district), the working group of the Drug and Crime Prevention Department and the following units: Muong Nha Border Guard Station, PC04 Department, Working Group 1266 (Dien Bien Provincial Police) and Mun Chung Commune Police (Tuan Giao district), discovered a taxi moving in the direction from Dien Bien to Hanoi with suspicious signs. The working group signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection.
Upon inspection, there were two male subjects (the car renters) in the car who could not present identification documents.
When checking the wooden chair package that the two subjects brought onto the vehicle, the authorities discovered that the wooden chair had empty compartments containing many foil packages. These foil packages contained nylon packages containing pink tablets marked WY. In addition, the authorities also discovered 2 rectangular boxes of opaque white powder. Preliminary counting at the scene showed that there were 66,000 synthetic drug pills and 2 heroin cakes weighing 700 grams.
At the investigation agency, the two subjects were identified as Mua A Nha (born in 1994), residing in Suoi Thin village, Chieng Son commune, Moc Chau district (Son La province) and Mua A Pha (born in 1997), residing in Huoi Hieng village, Sop Bau district, Hua Phan province, (Lao People's Democratic Republic).
Initially, the two subjects confessed to transporting drugs from Laos through Dien Bien province to Hanoi for consumption. To facilitate transportation, the two subjects disguised themselves by hollowing out the seat and legs of the chair, then placing drugs inside and then reattaching them to form a seat in order to deceive the authorities.
