On the occasion of the 2024 Giap Thin Lunar New Year, city leaders visited policy families in Hoa Vang district, including Vietnamese Heroic Mother Pham Thi Thin (102 years old, Hoa Khuong commune), whose husband and son are martyrs. The mother lives with her son, and their circumstances are still difficult. Listening directly to the feelings of the mother and her family, the city leaders decided to support funding for house repairs. After two months of construction, the house was upgraded, with new bedrooms built, the altar and main house repaired. On the day she received the house back, Mother Thin was moved to thank the city government for their attention and said that she would try to live a healthy life, setting an example for her children and grandchildren to continue the tradition of patriotism and build her homeland.

Recently, the City People's Committee held a ceremony to attach a signboard to a social housing project for people with revolutionary contributions on Vu Mong Nguyen Street (Khue My Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District). The project has 209 apartments, each with an area of ​​65 to 77 square meters, with a total investment of more than 223 billion VND. This will be a stable place for families of people with revolutionary contributions who are facing housing difficulties. The project is an important milestone in the implementation of the project "Construction of social housing for families of people with revolutionary contributions who are facing housing difficulties" in the period of 2020-2025. The completion and handover of the project contributes to improving the quality of material and spiritual life for policy families, demonstrating the deep and timely concern of the city government.

The city has issued many outstanding policies in gratitude work. In particular, Resolution No. 132/2017/NQ-HDND stipulates support for land use fees, support for building new houses or repairing houses for people with meritorious services, with support levels of 45 to 70 million VND/household depending on the target group. Resolution No. 245/2019/NQ-HDND continues to expand health care policies and support for people with meritorious services who are poor and no longer able to work. These policies are deeply humane, at the same time closely meeting the actual needs of the people, contributing to stabilizing the long-term lives of policy beneficiaries.

Along with the city government, localities have also actively participated in taking care of people with meritorious services. From the beginning of 2024 to now, Lien Chieu district has proposed to repair and build new houses for 46 households, with a total cost of 1.62 billion VND. In addition, nearly 160 policy households were given gifts with a total cost of about 200 million VND; 50 typical households were supported, including living Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, wounded soldiers, people infected with severe chemical toxins and households in especially difficult circumstances, each gift worth 1.5 million VND. In Cam Le district, the People's Committee of the district organized delegations to visit and present gifts to policy families on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day; deployed concentrated nursing for 60 people with meritorious services at provincial and municipal nursing centers; repaired and built new houses for 24 households with a total cost of 840 million VND...

The City Youth Union organized many meaningful activities to show gratitude to those who have contributed to the country. Among them, the model "We are always with you, Mother" was implemented in 73 families of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers across the city with activities of union members and youth visiting their homes and providing regular health care. Head of the City Youth Union's Propaganda Department Truong Thi Ngoc Phuong shared that the program expressed the deep gratitude of the younger generation for the great sacrifices of Mothers in the revolutionary cause.

Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen The Tuan said that, implementing the Ordinance on Incentives for Meritorious People, the city has always proactively paid full and timely policies for meritorious people and their relatives. The city has reviewed and synthesized the need to repair and build new houses in 2025. On that basis, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 651/QD-UBND approving the project to support meritorious people and relatives of martyrs in housing. It is expected that by May 31, 2025, the city will complete support for repairing and building new houses for these subjects, with a total cost of more than 23.74 billion VND from the central and local budgets.

The practical care efforts of the entire city's political system are a deep gratitude to those who have contributed to the revolution, and at the same time are the foundation for building great national unity, promoting the tradition of patriotism in the construction and development of the city.
