The workshop brought together speakers who are leading experts from World Bank Vietnam, Ernst & Young Vietnam, BIDV, FPT; and attracted more than 100 pioneering enterprises in ESG transformation to attend.
The workshop is a forum connecting in-depth knowledge with practical action, where businesses not only update global trends on green transformation and international ESG reporting standards, but also learn experiences and strategies to turn ESG into a competitive advantage in the integration process.
The workshop continued to affirm BIDV's pioneering role in supporting the sustainable development strategy of the business community. In the context of ESG increasingly becoming a global standard, BIDV identifies green finance as a strategic tool to help businesses optimize costs and increase access to long-term preferential capital. BIDV has issued sustainable financial frameworks according to international standards and highly appreciated by Moody's (such as sustainable loan framework, green bond framework, sustainable bond framework), developed and expanded the supply of green financial products (including green loans, sustainability-linked loans, green bonds, sustainable bonds, green deposits, etc.).
Mr. Tran Long - Deputy General Director of BIDV
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Tran Long - Deputy General Director of BIDV - emphasized: "Through the workshop, we provide more information, perspectives from experts and practical experience on financial and technological solutions that meet the Government's requirements as well as help businesses build a suitable green transformation roadmap, contributing to improving competitiveness".
FPT also brought to the workshop the VertZéro technology platform to support inventory, measurement and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, aiming to build a reporting system that meets international standards such as PCAF (Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials) - a set of standards that are widely applied by global financial institutions.
Accordingly, the key factor to meet PCAF is not only to fully identify the scope of emissions, but also the capacity to manage data to ensure data is transparent, consistent and verifiable. This requires businesses to build a systematic data infrastructure, integrate information between internal units, and standardize data collection - processing - storage.
In addition, FPT also made specific recommendations during the process of building and arranging data to best prepare for accessing green capital sources from domestic and international organizations. In particular, the VertZéro solution has been jointly provided by FPT and BIDV (free for a limited time and with a discount of up to 25% after the free period) to all BIDV corporate customers.
With an open spirit, the Workshop spread positive energy and aspirations for transformation. The in-depth discussion session provided a clear perspective on Vietnam’s position in the greening journey, the opportunity to issue ESG bonds, and BIDV’s accompanying role. Practical sharing from Gemadept and the World Bank’s business support programs have further motivated the business community to confidently make breakthroughs.
The success of the Workshop also demonstrates BIDV's strong commitment to pursuing the "Green Banking" strategy, accompanying the Government and businesses on the journey of sustainable transformation.
