At the ceremony, monks, nuns and Buddhists reviewed the history of Buddha's birthday, listened to the message of the Supreme Patriarch, the speech of the President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and practiced the sacred Buddha bathing ritual. Every April is the occasion to commemorate three great events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni: Birth - Enlightenment - Nirvana.

This year's Vesak is even more meaningful because on this occasion, the people of the whole country are joyfully celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, and this is the 4th year that the United Nations has organized the Vesak Festival in Vietnam with the theme "Solidarity and tolerance for human dignity: Buddhist wisdom for world peace and sustainable development". Therefore, His Holiness calls on all Buddhists on this occasion to uphold the spirit of solidarity, harmony and actively join humanity in creating a truly peaceful and happy world.

The annual organization of the Buddha's birthday not only educates monks, nuns, and Buddhists about the profound cultural, ethical, and humanistic values ​​of Buddhism, but also strengthens national and religious solidarity, contributing to promoting the traditions of the people of Ha Nam in the era of national development. Also at the ceremony, in addition to awarding certificates of gratitude to many groups and individuals who have made contributions to Buddhist activities in the past time, the Executive Committee also awarded decisions to appoint abbots to 100 monks and nuns in the whole province.
