Touching Art Program "Immortal Epic" in Quang Tri

NDO - On the evening of August 11, at the special national relic of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and the flower-releasing wharf on the south bank of Thach Han River, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Quang Tri province to organize the art program "Immortal Heroic Song" to celebrate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day and the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement to restore peace in Vietnam.

This is a program within the framework of the 2024 Peace Festival organized by Quang Tri province in coordination with ministries, departments and branches. Attending were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, representatives of leaders of ministries, departments and branches. On the side of Quang Tri province, there were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Tung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung, comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and a large number of people.

In his opening speech, Party Central Committee member and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that today, at Quang Tri Citadel, along the sacred Thach Han River, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Quang Tri province solemnly organized the special art program "Immortal Epic". In the history of the struggle for independence, our Party led the entire people in political, military and diplomatic struggles to unify the country. One of the brilliant peaks of 20th century diplomacy was that Vietnam persistently and persistently fought to sign the Geneva Agreement to cease hostilities and restore peace in Vietnam. With skillful military art, skillfully combining fighting and negotiating, the Party led the army and people to many glorious victories, including the victory of the 1972 Spring-Summer Campaign, liberating Quang Tri province and the 81-day and night campaign to protect Quang Tri Citadel, contributing significantly to forcing the US to negotiate and sign the Paris Agreement in 1973. The US and other countries respected Vietnam's independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

With infinite gratitude and respect for the children of the Fatherland, the art program "Immortal Heroic Song" wishes to convey the message that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed during his lifetime: Our Party, State and People will never forget the great contributions of revolutionary predecessors, heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution. Therefore, the program is built with profound political, artistic and humanistic qualities, connecting the past, present and future, portraying the image of a generation of young people full of youthfulness, ready to put down their pens and ink to go to battle at the sacred call of the Fatherland.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, he warmly welcomed, highly appreciated and commended ministries, departments, branches, localities, units and individuals at home and abroad for actively responding to and participating in the policies of the Party and State so that people with meritorious services to the country can have an increasingly better life; as well as calling on all levels, branches, cadres, party members, people... to contribute more to implementing the gratitude policy with practical actions. The special art program was elaborately and magnificently staged, combining traditional art colors with modern stage techniques, taking place emotionally and solemnly with 3 chapters and the participation of famous artists: People's Artist Quang Tho, Artist Thanh Thanh Hien, Singer Tung Duong, Anh Tho, Trong Tan, Dang Duong, Duong Hoang Yen, Pham Khanh Ngoc, Viet Danh, Oplus Group...; veterans, children with immortal revolutionary songs resounding in the night of the Ancient Citadel as if reviving the difficult and heroic years of the Vietnamese people.

Touching performances of the program.

Chapter 1 with the content "Forever Twenty" recreates the historical period with the country's elite youth at the age of eighteen, twenty leaving the university to join the army at the sacred call of the Fatherland, participating in the fierce battle in which many elites and talents of the country sacrificed their lives in the 81-day and night campaign to protect Quang Tri Ancient Citadel in 1972. Chapter 2 with the content "Writing the legend" is the story of mothers seeing their children off to war. The brothers left with their motherly love in the rear. Chapter 3 "Forever the military march" is the emotion of today, of Vietnam in general and Quang Tri in particular, which is growing strongly in all fields, becoming a symbol of noble human values and human conscience.
