As analyzed by Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Ky, the development of Quang Ninh and the development of the Coal industry are based on a symbiotic relationship, organically linked "two in one". The transformation of the growth model, innovation of the method of socio-economic development associated with ensuring solid national defense and security of Quang Ninh province has strategic significance, creating an important premise for the Coal industry to move in the same direction as the general trend, continue to restructure, innovate and develop sustainably; thanks to that, workers in the Coal industry enjoy the development achievements of the province, and feel secure in their long-term attachment to the Mining Land.

With the tradition of perseverance in overcoming difficulties, "Discipline and Unity", the will to be self-reliant, the spirit of striving to rise up, the determination to innovate and create, the desire for breakthrough development, the Quang Ninh Coal industry is currently one of the three important pillars to ensure national energy security.

Facing new challenges as open-pit coal reserves are increasingly depleted, underground mines are getting deeper, leading to increased costs for exploration, exploitation, transportation, labor safety, environment, etc. Especially when Quang Ninh changes its development method from "brown" to "green", becoming a province with a service-industrial structure; the contribution of the coal industry to the growth of Quang Ninh province tends to decrease gradually from 35% in the GRDP structure in 2010 to 21.3% (in 2015), and 19.1% in 2020.

Faced with the demands of the new era, generations of miners and people of Quang Ninh still uphold the spirit of “Discipline and Unity”, working together day and night to contribute, continuing to write the proud history of the Mining Land. Determined to realize Uncle Ho’s wish of “building the Coal industry into a model economic sector for other economic sectors and Quang Ninh province into a rich and beautiful province”, together with the whole country to successfully carry out the cause of comprehensive and synchronous innovation.
