Today (January 24), Thu Dau Mot University (Binh Duong province) announced that it has completed the procedures and determined the list of students who will be refunded the excess tuition fees related to practice credits.

According to the school, to date, more than 10,000 students have received tuition refunds totaling approximately VND21 billion. The school continues to review and process the refunds to the remaining students who have not received them.
This refund comes after the State Audit concluded that Thu Dau Mot University collected incorrect tuition fees for the two school years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, with a total amount of about 37 billion VND.
After the Auditor's conclusion, the school returned the entire amount to the state budget. However, according to the Auditor's request, Thu Dau Mot University must refund this amount to students, and if it cannot be refunded, it must be paid to the state budget.
Speaking to VietNamNet reporters , school leaders said that tuition refunds have been implemented since January 23. However, due to the large number of students, the refund process has not been completed.
Previously, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Chairman of the School Board shared that the school plans to complete the refund of all excess tuition fees in 2024.
The refund takes time because the school's professional agencies have to review and compare the list and student account numbers to comply with regulations, so it takes longer.
