General Secretary To Lam attends the inauguration ceremony of the People's Police Monument in Ho Chi Minh City

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the afternoon of April 29, at Au Lac Park (District 5), the Ministry of Public Security held the inauguration ceremony of the People's Police Monument "For a peaceful life".

Attending the ceremony were General Secretary To Lam; Politburo members: General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.

Also attending were former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, leaders and former leaders of the Central Government and Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security, said: The construction of the monument not only honors and pays tribute to the glorious feats of generations of officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security Force, but also serves as a cultural work of political, historical and cultural significance, a place to organize propaganda and education activities on traditions for generations of officers, soldiers and people. Thereby, it contributes to raising awareness, promoting the spirit of crime prevention, strengthening the trust of the people and Party committees and authorities at all levels, closely coordinating and helping the People's Public Security Force to successfully fulfill its task of maintaining security and order in the country, for the peace and happiness of the people.

Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To emphasized that the People's Police Monument "For a peaceful life" is not only a symbolic work, carrying profound humanistic values ​​of the People's Police force, but also a unique and typical cultural and architectural work, contributing to enhancing the value of the urban landscape, becoming an attractive and impressive destination in the journey of tourists to Ho Chi Minh City.

The People's Police Monument "For a peaceful life" was built in the Au Lac Park area (the area adjacent to Cong Hoa intersection, Tran Phu street, District 5). The monument has a distinct shape, the statue cluster is 4.1m high, the pedestal is 2.97m high, including 7 characters: the image of a Vietnamese mother, a child and 5 police officers. The monument area includes the statue, pedestal, trees, lawn, flower beds, playground, lighting system, general landscape; the items are arranged harmoniously, with correlation in color.
