The Ministry of Home Affairs has just sent an official dispatch to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities on taking care of the lives of workers celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Accordingly, in order to better care for the material and spiritual lives of people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs, the Ministry of Home Affairs requests that the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities pay attention to directing competent agencies to step up propaganda, in order to promote the tradition of patriotism and the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" among all classes of people, especially the young generation, making everyone deeply aware and respectfully grateful for the great contributions of heroes - martyrs and those who have contributed to the country, for the cause of national liberation and national reunification.

Localities need to continue reviewing policy beneficiaries and meritorious people in the area who are still facing difficulties and need support, especially families of meritorious people living in areas affected by natural disasters, floods, saltwater intrusion, remote areas, ethnic minorities, border areas, and islands to have timely support plans.

The Ministry of Home Affairs reminded localities to fully and promptly implement all policies for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs. Prioritize and promptly allocate funds in the assigned state budget estimates to ensure timely implementation of preferential policies and have practical solutions to mobilize social resources to care for people with revolutionary contributions.

In addition, discover and replicate typical and advanced collectives and individuals in the work of caring for war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services; thereby strongly promoting the movements of "Repaying gratitude", "All people taking care of people with meritorious services to the country" to develop widely, go into depth and bring practical results; at the same time, honor typical examples of war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services.

Localities also need to pay attention to renovating and embellishing works honoring martyrs such as martyrs' cemeteries, memorials, martyrs' temples, and martyrs' steles; organizing incense offering and candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at historical sites, memorial works, and martyrs' cemeteries in a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day in the locality.
