Instructions on how to register for the 2025 high school graduation exam

(PLVN) - To take the 2025 high school graduation exam, 12th grade candidates in the 2024-2025 school year register online with an account and password provided by the school; Independent candidates register online with a VNeID account via the National Public Service Portal.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27 with more than 1.1 million candidates expected to participate.

According to the plan, from April 15 to April 18, 12th graders for the 2024-2025 school year will try to register for the exam online on the Ministry of Education and Training's Exam Management System. Then, from April 21 to 5:00 p.m. on April 28, 12th graders and independent candidates will officially register for the exam online.

Steps to register for the 2025 high school graduation exam are as follows:

Step 1: Access the registration link of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET): https://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn

Step 2: Candidates log in to their account information

Account information includes: CCCD/ID card/Resident number, login code, then fill in the correct blue confirmation code (case sensitive).

For independent candidates, log in using the National Public Service Portal, fill in account information or scan the VNeID code on your phone.

Independent candidates when registering online with VNeID still have to print the exam form, get confirmation from the ward police of the necessary documents and then submit it to the application receiving point along with documents such as priority points (if any). Therefore, you can register directly from the application submission stage if you do not want to register online.

Step 3: Change login code

After logging in, the Change Login Code screen will be displayed. Candidates will change the login code (change password).

Note, the password must be strong: at least 8 characters, including numbers, special characters, uppercase characters, and lowercase characters.

Step 4: Enter information on the online exam registration form

After successfully changing the login code, the online registration form entry screen appears. Candidates enter the information on the registration form. Candidates fill in the correct information on their birth certificate and citizen identification card.

Step 5: Save the exam registration form

Step 6: Print the exam registration form

Candidates log in to their account and select the following operations: Registration form - Registration form details - Print the registration form to PDF file for comparison when necessary.

Candidates should note that before filling out the application form, candidates must carefully read the sections and the INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINISHING THE FORM. If there are any unclear points, candidates must ask the admission officer for full instructions. Candidates are fully responsible for the information declared in the admission form.

Candidates who are students in grade 12 will fill out the online registration information using the account provided on the Exam Management Software System. After completing the review and confirmation within the prescribed registration deadline, the High School where the candidate is studying will print the Registration Form, Form No. 1, Form No. 2 and sign and stamp a seal with a border on the photo of the Registration Form to confirm the candidate's identity.

Candidates freely fill in the necessary information on the envelope containing the Registration Form, Form No. 1 and Form No. 2 (the information must be the same in all corresponding sections on the envelope, Form No. 1 and Form No. 2) and then submit it to the registration reception place with a photocopy of both sides of the ID card/CCCD on one side of an A4 sheet of paper and 2 4x6 photos of the CCCD/CCCD type, taken within the last 6 months (with full name, date of birth, month, year clearly written on the back of the photo, these 2 photos are contained in a small envelope).

In addition, an additional photo must be pasted in the designated position on the front of the Registration Form envelope. The police of the ward or commune where the candidate resides will sign and stamp a bordered part on the photo of the Registration Form to confirm the candidate's identity.

People who do not have a high school diploma or have a secondary school diploma and are taking the exam to graduate from high school or use the high school graduation exam results as a basis for university or college admission must fill in all items on the software. People who have a high school diploma or a secondary school diploma and are taking the exam to use the high school graduation exam results as a basis for university or college admission only need to fill in items 1 to 15 and items 24, 25, 26, 27 on the software.

The place of receiving the registration keeps the envelope containing the registration form, form No. 1, a photocopy of the CCCD/ID card and 2 photos, and returns form No. 2 to the candidate after signing and stamping the confirmation. The candidate keeps form No. 2 to receive the exam notice and certificate of exam results.

In case of any errors in the exam registration information or loss of the Exam Notice, candidates must bring this Exam Registration Form directly to the registered Exam Location at the meeting to disseminate the exam regulations to request correction of errors and complete the exam procedures.

According to VnExpress, surveys in many localities show that the number of 12th grade students choosing to take the high school graduation exam in History and Geography often accounts for 40-50% of the total, overwhelming compared to natural science subjects.

The high school graduation exam from 2025 will take place with 4 subjects. Of which, the two compulsory subjects are Math and Literature. For the remaining two subjects, students choose from the subjects studied in grade 12, including Foreign Languages, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, and Technology.

In Hanoi , in the survey held at the end of March with more than 117,000 12th graders, the subject chosen by the most candidates was English with 61,000, equivalent to 52%. Next, History and Geography had more than 47,500 and 45,000 candidates respectively, accounting for 40-38% of the total candidates.

The number of candidates choosing these subjects is overwhelming the natural sciences group, such as Physics with nearly 33,000 candidates choosing, accounting for 28%; Chemistry and Biology with 13 and 3% respectively.

This trend also occurred in Hue City . In the graduation mock exam on April 10-11, nearly 38% of 13,400 students chose to take History; 34% chose English and 31% chose Geography.

In the natural group, only Physics has over 30% of students choosing, Chemistry 22% and Biology 8%.

Bac Giang province does not collect statistics by individual subject, but surveys students' choices by pairs of combinations. History and Geography are the most chosen combination with more than 7,300 candidates, accounting for 31% of nearly 23,400 12th graders.

Physics and Chemistry ranked second with 15%, the rest were mostly pairs of social subjects, such as Geography - Economic and Legal Education (13%), History - Foreign Languages, History - Economic and Legal Education (6% each pair)...

In all four localities mentioned above, only a few candidates plan to take the graduation exam in Information Technology and Technology (Agriculture, Industry).
