Information on the progress of the Can Tho City Centralized Administrative Area Project

Regarding the progress of the Can Tho City Administrative Area Project, the Can Tho City Department of Construction said that it is currently carrying out procedures to propose investment policies for the City Administrative Area Technical Infrastructure Project.

According to Decision No. 1074/QD-UBND dated April 28, 2023 of the People's Committee of Can Tho City approving the Project to adjust the detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/500 of Tay Do Cultural Center, Can Tho City, in which, the City Administrative Area has an area of ​​10.87 hectares.

The Administrative Area Project is expected to invest in 2 projects: Technical infrastructure project of the City Administrative Area; Project of the City People's Committee headquarters and headquarters of specialized agencies and departments under the City People's Committee.

According to the above Decision, the location of the planning adjustment is in Hung Phu ward, Cai Rang district. The North and West borders Can Tho river; the East borders Quang Trung street (from Can Tho river to IC3 intersection); the South borders Vo Nguyen Giap street (from Can Tho river to IC3 intersection).

The planning area has an area of ​​about 69.37 hectares. In nature, this is the Concentrated Administrative Area of ​​Can Tho City and the Tay Do Cultural Center - Can Tho City, including: the system of city-level offices, headquarters of political and social organizations, public service units in the city; service - commercial works associated with the activities of the administrative - cultural area; urban public space; urban public transport hub.

Regarding basic population indicators and calculated operating staff, Can Tho City Administrative Area has about 1,283 people; the number of staff of political and social organizations is about 124 people; public service units are expected to have about 8,000 m2 of usable floor space; service, support and management centers at the city level are expected to have about 8,000 m2 of usable floor space.

Regarding the height of construction works, the City's concentrated administrative area must not exceed 8 floors (≤ 36.0 m).

Regarding spatial planning and architecture, the City's Central Administrative Area is located in the center of the land, meeting the working needs of 21 agencies and units, arranging interconnected clusters of works, conveniently connecting with services for employees working in the administrative area.

Previously, on March 8, 2023, the Office of the People's Committee of Can Tho City announced the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Duong Tan Hien at the meeting on the implementation status of the City Administrative Area project.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Can Tho City assigned the City Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) to strive to deploy the construction of the technical infrastructure of the Administrative Area in 2024, and start construction in 2025 to celebrate the City Party Congress.

Currently, the headquarters of the City Party Committee, Can Tho City People's Committee and the City's departments, branches, sectors and organizations are mainly concentrated in Ninh Kieu district, scattered along the central routes of the City.
