On the evening of August 12, the Department of Cinema (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province to open a film series celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
The series of films celebrating the country's major holidays held in Dak Lak province includes: Documentaries "Flying on the Wings of Freedom" and "Special Companion" produced by People's Police Cinema; Feature film "Nam Xuan Memories" produced by Liberation Film Joint Stock Company; Feature films "Old Lady Wandering" and "Peach, Pho and Piano" produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company 1.
Mr. Do Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Cinema, said that this is a meaningful cultural-cinematic activity to widely propagate among the masses, especially the young generation, about national pride, patriotic traditions, and the spirit of great national solidarity in the cause of national liberation.
Through emotional films about revolutionary war and family, audiences will review the heroic history of the nation, contributing to spreading patriotism, revolutionary heroism, and the spirit of great solidarity. Thereby raising awareness and sense of responsibility in the cause of building and developing the country.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, Tran Hong Tien, affirmed that through the selected documentaries and feature films screened this time, the audience will not only have access to vivid slices of history but also be inspired by patriotism, ideals of a beautiful life, faith and aspiration to build their homeland and country.
This is also an opportunity for officials and people in the province to look back on 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection - a widespread movement demonstrating the proactive and positive role of each citizen in maintaining security and order.
On the opening night, officers and soldiers of Dak Lak Provincial Police, Provincial Border Guard, lecturers and students of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy and many people had the opportunity to interact with artists and actors.
Meritorious Artist Minh Trang (actress in the film “The Old Lady Goes to the Dust”) shared: The river scenes in the film “The Old Lady Goes to the Dust” caused her difficulties. However, with the encouragement of the film crew, she completed her role.
Dak Lak is where she used to film, so when she returned here to interact with the audience, she was very emotional. Many cadres, soldiers and people of the province came to attend the exchange program. Dak Lak audiences love the stage and love art.
The film screening will be held at the following locations: Dak Lak Provincial Film Distribution and Screening Center, Provincial Military Command, Tay Nguyen University from August 7-13, 2025./.
