Tet is a beautiful traditional Vietnamese festival, the beginning of a new year when all Vietnamese people spend this time with their families, expressing their gratitude for the past year and praying for the new year. This is also the time for Vietnamese people to remember their ancestors. This year, my family and I will also experience Tet in Hanoi, exploring Hanoi in the Spring with less traffic and especially less motorbikes!
As the New Year approaches, I wish the best for the relationship between Brazil and Vietnam. Both of our countries value peace and stability; our people are friendly, warm, optimistic about the future, and wish for a happy and joyful life.
Last year, we celebrated the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations. In the past, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Brazil twice, once for a bilateral visit in 2023 and once to attend the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro at the end of 2024. The leaders of the two countries had high-level exchanges in a close and cordial atmosphere. In 2025, we look forward to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's visit to Vietnam. We hope that these high-level visits can further promote political, economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries. It can be said that bilateral relations are at their best moment.
With all its remarkable efforts, Vietnam has not only attracted important investments but also successfully resolved many challenges, becoming an important actor in world affairs, contributing to dialogue and cooperation not only in the region but also in the international arena.
The road ahead is still difficult and bumpy, requiring strength and determination. I believe that, up to now, the Vietnamese Government has done a lot and deserves our admiration and resonance.
