Attending the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation" were comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council. Also attending were comrades: Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Council; Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung; Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; representatives of ministries, branches, central and local agencies, business community, experts and scientists.

Science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are the only ways to break through.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that this was an event taking place at an important moment with the spirit of "faster, faster, bolder, bolder" of the historic April days 50 years ago, aiming to concretize and put the Party's policies and guidelines in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation into practice.

The Prime Minister called on all levels, sectors, organizations, businesses and people nationwide to actively participate and strongly respond to the emulation movement, promote patriotism and arouse the aspiration for national development.

The Prime Minister emphasized that science, technology, innovation and digital transformation are not only inevitable trends of the times, but also the only way to break through, overcome difficulties and challenges, seize opportunities, build an independent, self-reliant, strong economy, a civilized and modern society, and bring the country on par with the world's great powers.

The Prime Minister called on all levels, sectors, organizations, businesses and people nationwide to actively participate and strongly respond to the emulation movement, promote patriotism, and arouse the aspiration for national development with the spirit: People and businesses are the center, the main subject, resource and driving force. Scientists are the key factor. The State plays a leading, promoting and creating the most favorable conditions for the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

Innovation is the work of all people

At the Ceremony, delegates watched the reportage "The path to prosperity begins with innovation and digital transformation" produced by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The report highlights the point of view that innovation is not just for scientists but for all people. Every citizen, regardless of their position, can contribute with small improvements in their work and daily life.

Innovation aims at the ultimate goal of improving labor productivity, promoting economic growth, enhancing national and business competitiveness, and improving the quality of daily work, making people's lives more efficient and of higher quality. Innovation is the strategic door for Vietnam to shorten the gap with developed countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front pressed the button to officially launch the emulation movement.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, emphasized the pioneering and leading role of Vietnamese youth in innovation and digital transformation.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has issued an Action Program with 57 specific tasks and solutions to encourage young people to participate in scientific research, technology application, creative startups and digital transformation. He also pledged to widely deploy the movement to all levels of the Youth Union and its members and young people nationwide.

Representing Hai Phong city, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee affirmed that the city will implement synchronous solutions to promote digital transformation. Hai Phong commits to promoting propaganda and raising awareness of the role of science and technology and digital transformation in socio-economic development. The city prioritizes investment in digital infrastructure, developing high-quality human resources and building digital government, as well as focusing on applying digital technology in the fields of industry, agriculture, tourism and health, while developing an innovation ecosystem to facilitate research and creative startups.

Sharing about his research process and contributions to the agricultural technology industry, Mr. Chu Duc Ha, lecturer at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said that he is the author of many inventions and useful solutions, and is the co-author of 4 rice varieties that can adapt to climate change. According to Mr. Chu Duc Ha, scientific research results not only solve technical problems in agriculture, but also carry a greater philosophy: bringing scientific knowledge back to people, serving life, especially farmers who are facing increasingly fierce challenges from climate change. Innovation is not only about technical improvement but also serving human life, bringing practical value to the community.
