In addition to the Ukraine issue, the two heads of state of the US and Russia are said to have discussed the situation in the Middle East as well as the possibility of cooperation to prevent future conflicts in this region.
Another topic of discussion between the two leaders was “the need to prevent the proliferation of strategic weapons” globally, according to the White House press secretary.
On the social media platform Truth Social, Mr. Trump described the call as “very good and productive,” adding: “Many elements of a peace agreement were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers are dying, and that both President Putin and President Zelensky want to end this. The process is now in full swing, and hopefully, for the good of humanity, we will get it done!”

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky |
Speaking about the phone call between Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is ready to support the proposals for a ceasefire at energy facilities, but all details of the agreement between the parties need to be made public.
“The only issue that is being discussed right now is not to attack the energy sector. I don’t have any other information. I think it would be reasonable for us to have a direct conversation with President Trump to find out the details of what Russia has proposed to the United States or what the United States has proposed to Russia,” Zelensky said.
