"Hunting" for Western tanks to supply to Ukraine

On August 6, RT reported that the Russian Defense Ministry reported that last week Russian units destroyed several tanks supplied by the West.

On Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry also shared a video of an artillery strike on an M1 Abrams tank supplied by the United States to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The tank was found northwest of the city of Avdeevka, where it was stuck in a grassy trench. The M1 Abrams was destroyed by a single Krasnopol guided shell fired from a 152mm Msta-S self-propelled gun.

On Tuesday, another drone video showed Russian fire destroying a Leopard 2A4 tank. The footage was reportedly filmed near the town of Kurakhovo in the Ukrainian-controlled Donbass region. The vehicle was spotted firing at Russian positions. The footage showed the tank being hit multiple times, with the ammunition magazine behind the turret catching fire and spreading to the cockpit.

The Russian military also reported the destruction of two German-made Leopard 1A5 tanks. Video footage of the moment when a suicide drone and artillery shelled the tank near the town of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region was also released.

Video shared by the military on Monday shows the Leopard 1A5 being hit from behind by a Lancet suicide drone as it drives down a road. The attack caused a fire inside, with flames bursting from the hatch.

A second Ukrainian tank was targeted by Russian artillery while hiding under trees. The Russian military said the tank was later destroyed by a Krasnopol shell.

Attack on the Ukrainian rear area

The Russian military also continued to carry out airstrikes against numerous military positions and industrial facilities serving the Ukrainian military. Over the past week, the Russian military reported the destruction of several buildings used by Ukraine to house troops and store various weapons, including suicide drones.

Last Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry launched an attack on a temporary shelter of Ukrainian forces in the village of Velikaya Novoselka in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. The attack was carried out with a UPAB-1500B glide bomb, a high-precision bomb.

Another UPAB-1500B may have been used by the Russian military in the Ukrainian-controlled town of Gulyaypole. The bomb also accurately hit a temporary Ukrainian military camp.

In the town of Liptsy in the Kharkiv region, the Russian military also launched an attack on another Ukrainian military facility. Video footage of the attack shows a huge bomb hitting the building. The explosion completely destroyed part of the building and caused serious damage to the rest.

Another building in the village of Scherbinovka, 12km northwest of Gorlovka, was also attacked by the Russian military. The attack was recorded by a drone. Public video footage shows the building being hit by an air-launched missile, possibly a Kh-38, causing serious damage. The building is believed to house a drone operations unit. According to RT, at least 13 servicemen were killed in the attack and an unknown number of drones were stored at the site.
