Consulting on draft Circular promulgating statistical reporting regime for education sector

Accordingly, this Circular stipulates the content of the statistical reporting regime of the education sector to collect statistical information belonging to the national statistical indicator system assigned to the Ministry of Education and Training, the statistical indicator system of the education sector and synthesize other statistical information to serve the management requirements of the sector and field.

Agencies and organizations implementing the statistical reporting regime for the education sector include: Departments of Education and Training of provinces and centrally-run cities, universities, academies, colleges, facilities providing training at university, master's, and doctoral levels, pedagogical colleges, colleges providing training in preschool education, and pre-university schools.

The content of the statistical reporting regime for the education sector includes the purpose, scope of statistics, applicable subjects, reporting units, reporting receiving units, table symbols, reporting period, deadline for receiving reports, method of submitting reports and list, report forms with explanations of statistical reporting forms.

The draft Circular stipulates that the period for reporting educational statistics is calculated according to the school year and reporting period . Specifically, the statistical report on preschool education, general education, continuing education , and education for the disabled is conducted twice a year, at the beginning and end of the school year.

Statistical report on higher education, training in preschool education at college and pre-university level, 1 reporting period is conducted each year . The annual reporting time is December 31 of the reporting year, the deadline for submitting the report is January 31 of the year following the reporting year.

Other statistical reports are made to help the Minister of Education and Training collect information other than the statistical information collected and compiled according to the periodic statistical reporting regime. The content of other statistical reports is made according to the written request of the Ministry of Education and Training.
