This special art program is an annual event hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with localities. The program aims to honor heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and those who have contributed to the revolution. They have sacrificed and contributed to the cause of national liberation and the construction and protection of the Fatherland. The event is also an opportunity to convey the message of remembering the source of water, while contributing to strengthening the education of revolutionary traditions and responsibilities of generations, especially the younger generation.

The program "Immortal Epic" in 2024 is an important part of the Festival for Peace, held for the first time in Quang Tri province. The event will take place from 8:10 p.m. on August 11, 2024, at two locations: the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Historical Site and the Thach Han River Flower Lantern Release Wharf. The program will be broadcast live on major television channels such as VTV, with the participation of many leaders of the Party, State, and central and provincial departments, ministries, branches, and organizations. In particular, the event also attracts the attention of many media agencies and a large number of people in Quang Tri province as well as tourists from all over the world.

The art program “Immortal Heroic Song” is elaborately staged with a combination of traditional art and modern stage techniques. The content of the program is divided into three chapters, each chapter carries profound messages about sacrifice and national pride.

Chapter I: Forever 20.

Starting with the reportage “Putting down the pen and going to fight”, recreating the arduous years of Vietnamese youth during the resistance war. Shows such as “The Fatherland Calls - Legend of the Land of Fire” and “The Grass of the Ancient Citadel - Lullaby of the Grass” will revive the images of young soldiers who sacrificed for the Fatherland.

Chapter II: Writing the Legend

Opening with the story of mothers in the rear. Songs like “July Comes Back” and “Fatherland in Truong Sa” will tell about the patriotism and determination of soldiers.

Chapter III: The military march echoes forever

The praise for the development and rise of Quang Tri in particular and Vietnam in general. Songs such as “You are the belief in certain victory” and “We are proud to go up, oh Vietnam” will close the program in an atmosphere of pride, looking to the future.

The art program “Immortal Heroic Song” is not only an occasion to remember and pay tribute to those who have devoted themselves to the country, but also an opportunity for today’s generation to look back on the past, draw valuable lessons and continue to build and protect the Fatherland.
