Swimming prohibited in Nha Trang beach area where barge stranded and buried in sand

On April 13, the leader of Nha Trang Bay Management Board said that in recent days, the unit has used buoys to demarcate the area at sea, and put up a "No Swimming" sign on the sand, in the beach area opposite No. 80, Tran Phu Street (Nha Trang City) - where the barge with registration number KH 98668 TS has been stranded since December 2019 and is now buried in sand, to avoid danger for people and tourists when swimming in the sea.

No swimming zone in the sea area where the stranded barge is buried in sand.

According to a report from the Nha Trang Bay Management Board, the iron sections of the barge’s bow structure are submerged under the sand. When the tide rises and falls, sharp edges are exposed, posing a potential risk of injury to residents and tourists when swimming in the sea.

To completely handle the above situation and ensure the safety of residents and tourists, Nha Trang Bay Management Board has proposed that Nha Trang City People's Committee direct relevant agencies and units to conduct surveys and assess the level of danger of obstacles; develop plans to demolish or take drastic measures to overcome them.
