The program was organized by the Hanoi City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee, and implemented by Hanoi Radio and Television, as part of a series of programs and activities to widely disseminate the stature, value and great significance of the resistance war against the US to save the country and the Great Spring Victory in 1975, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
Attending the program were Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Doan Toan; Member of the City Party Committee, Head of the Organization Commission of the Hanoi Party Committee Ha Minh Hai, along with leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and organizations; leaders of districts, towns, and a large number of people in the capital.

Hanoi - the heart of the whole country - has a great responsibility in the cause of fighting for national reunification. For more than twenty years, the capital Hanoi has always turned towards the South, with the spirit of "all for the beloved South", wholeheartedly and with all its strength, together with the whole country, encouraging and supporting the resilient struggle of the people and soldiers of the South, providing human and material support until the final victory.
The program “A Country Full of Joy” recreates the atmosphere of this day exactly half a century ago, when troops “rushed like a flood” to Saigon, liberating the South and unifying the country; at the same time, once again affirming the key role of both the brain and the vanguard of the Capital in the great march of the nation.

In the program, the audience enjoyed elaborately staged art performances, harmoniously combining political language and unique and meaningful art such as "The Southern Frontline of the Fatherland" (Chu Minh), "The Ho on the Hien Luong Bank" (poem by Dang Giang, music by Hoang Hiep), "Far Out" (Nguyen Tai Tue), "The Song of Hope" (Van Ky), "The Truong Son Stick" (Pham Tuyen), "Love Song" (Hoang Viet), "Hanoi, Hue, Saigon" (Hoang Van), "Hue, Saigon, Hanoi" (Trinh Cong Son), "The Song of Unification" (Vo Van Di), "The Country is Full of Joy" (Hoang Ha)...

In particular, many songs about Hanoi during the resistance war were also impressively performed in the program, such as "Hanoi, sleepless nights" (Pham Tuyen), "Hanoi song" (Vu Thanh), "Hurried letter" (Duong Cam), "My memories" (Phu Quang)...
Interspersed with the art performances are reports, images, and documents vividly recreating the bustling atmosphere of the Capital's patriotic emulation movements such as "Three ready", "Three brave", "Three best flags", "Great wind"...
The program included a tribute to announcer Trinh Thi Ngo of the group “Hanoi Hannah” - a group of Vietnamese female announcers who, during the resistance war, took turns reading propaganda announcements on Radio Hanoi to call on American soldiers to abandon the war and demand the right to return home.

In addition, there is a special report on the “Iron Helmet” Regiment (Regiment 209, Division 312) - a unit with the participation of many children of Hanoi. In the early morning of March 26, 1968, at the top of Chu Tan Kra (Sa Thay, Kon Tum), more than 200 soldiers of the Regiment heroically sacrificed their lives in a fierce confrontation with American soldiers.
The audience also had emotional and proud moments when interacting with historical witnesses who were soldiers, young intellectuals who left Hanoi lecture halls, put on their backpacks and went to the battlefield, and witnesses present at Saigon Radio Station on April 30, 1975...
The participation of many beloved artists such as People's Artist Tan Minh, Meritorious Artist Lan Anh; singers My Linh, Quach Mai Thy, Tran Tung Anh, Kyo York; Thang Long group, Hanoi Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tre Dance Group... along with modern, artistic 3D mapping technology contributed to the success of the program "50 years of a country full of joy".
