Super ship MSC Leanne with a load of 202,461 DWT, designed capacity of 19,500 TEU docked at SSIT port.

According to Mr. Phan Hoang Vu, General Director of SSIT port, the successful reception of the MSC Leanne ship has special significance in the context of the US temporarily imposing a 10% import tax for 90 days.

The operation of large-capacity vessels helps shipping lines and ports promptly meet the increasing export demand from Vietnam to the United States during this period, while creating a foundation for future trade growth between the two countries, especially after bilateral negotiations are promoted.

This event marks an important step forward in the strategy to improve the capacity to receive mother ships at Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster, while affirming SSIT's role as one of the leading deep-water ports in Vietnam, capable of receiving super-heavy ships and expanding trans-Pacific maritime connectivity.
